Description
Lemon Tea Tree Essential Oil — fresh lemon with mint, a herbal accent and a hint of camphor; perfect for freshening your home.
Lemon tea tree (Leptospermum petersonii) is a remarkable plant of the myrtle family (Myrtaceae). It has thin, fibrous or flaky bark, strongly scented elliptical to lance-shaped leaves, white flowers and fruits that stay on the branches for several years. Most species of the genus are endemic to Australia, with the greatest diversity in the south of the continent, though some come from elsewhere, including New Zealand and South-East Asia. The plant has long been known to Aboriginal Australians.
Its scent resembles lemongrass or citronella, but is a little smoother and friendlier. The oil is regarded as one of the most effective at masking unpleasant odours — even cigarette smoke. Chemically it is similar to citronella, so insects aren’t fond of its aroma. It creates a cheerful atmosphere and supports calm focus while you work.
How to use lemon tea tree essential oil
- in a diffuser or oil burner — at your desk or in the living room after guests leave,
- as a room spray — with water in a spray bottle, also on upholstery (test on a hidden spot first),
- in homemade cleaners — for a fresh lemony scent,
- on the patio or balcony — on summer evenings,
- for massage — diluted in a carrier oil.
Volume: 10 ml.
Caution
Do not ingest. Always dilute in a carrier oil before applying to skin and patch test first: apply a drop of diluted oil to the inner forearm — if any reaction appears within 24 hours, do not use on skin. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
