Description
Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oil has a warm, spicy aroma that fills your home with a festive mood — a little softer than cinnamon bark oil.
Cinnamomum verum, the true or Ceylon cinnamon tree, is an evergreen in the laurel family (Lauraceae), native to Sri Lanka. Its old botanical synonym, Cinnamomum zeylanicum, comes from Ceylon, the island’s former name.
Essential oils are steam distilled from both the bark and the leaves of the tree. Both contain cinnamaldehyde — bark oil has more, giving it a sharper aroma, while leaf oil is slightly less intense. Cinnamon was once thought to be more valuable than gold, and its scent is still associated with the holiday season.
How to use cinnamon leaf oil
- in a diffuser or oil burner — for autumn evenings and festive preparations,
- in blends with orange, clove or ginger,
- in home potpourri, pine cones and scented decorations,
- for massage — only at a very low concentration, diluted in a carrier oil.
Volume: 10 ml.
Directions
Diffuser or oil burner: a few drops. On skin: always diluted in a carrier oil (e.g. sweet almond, jojoba or coconut).
Caution
Do not swallow. Always dilute in a carrier oil before applying to skin and patch test first: apply a drop of the diluted oil to the inner forearm — if any reaction appears within 24 hours, do not use on skin. Avoid during pregnancy. This is an intense oil — only use on skin diluted in a carrier oil, sparingly and ideally after consulting a specialist. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
The scent of the holidays all year round!
