Description
Clary sage essential oil offers a warm, sweet-herbal aroma with a nutty note — perfect for winding down in the evening.
Clary sage (Salvia sclarea) is a biennial or short-lived herbaceous perennial in the mint family. It is highly aromatic, with a scent reminiscent of nutmeg, which gives it its Polish name. It is native to the northern Mediterranean Basin and parts of North Africa and Central Asia. The plant has a long history, including use as a spice. Clary sage oil is often mistaken for common or Dalmatian sage, but although they belong to the same family, these herbs and their oils are quite different.
In aromatherapy, clary sage is loved for a scent that encourages relaxation and creates a calm, clear atmosphere — a lovely part of any evening ritual.
How to use clary sage essential oil
- in a diffuser — in the evening, for a moment of calm,
- in the bath — a few drops mixed with a carrier oil or bath salts,
- in a massage oil — diluted in a carrier oil, on its own or paired with lavender,
- in homemade perfumes and fragrance blends.
Volume: 10 ml.
Directions
Diffuser: 3–4 drops. On skin: always diluted in a carrier oil (e.g. coconut, sweet almond or grapeseed oil).
Caution
Do not swallow. May cause an allergic reaction — patch test first: apply a drop of diluted oil behind the ear or on the inner forearm; if any reaction appears within 24 hours, do not use on skin. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes, the inner ear and sensitive areas.
