Ylang Ylang I essential oil brings the rich, fruity-floral scent of the tropics — sensual, exotic and heady.

Ylang ylang is a yellow, star-shaped flower that grows on the Cananga tree (Cananga odorata), also known as the perfume tree. This tropical species is native to the countries around the Indian Ocean — India, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and parts of Australia. Its heady, aromatic scent is fruity, flowery and rich, which is why the oil is so often used in perfumery — you will find it in Chanel No 5, among others.

Legend has it that when the God of beauty was giving each flower its fragrance, he asked ylang ylang what it would do with a beautiful scent. The flower shyly replied that it would be grateful, but suggested the gift go to the grass instead — its flowers are trodden underfoot, while ylang ylang already grows as tall as other flowers. Delighted by such modesty, the God of beauty gave it a beautiful, magical scent to spread love among all living creatures on earth.

How to use ylang ylang essential oil

• in a diffuser — for a warm, romantic evening atmosphere,
• in the bath — a few drops with a carrier oil or bath salts for a relaxing moment,
• in a sensual massage oil — diluted in a carrier oil,
• in homemade perfumes — it pairs beautifully with citrus and lavender.

Volume: 10 ml.

Directions
Diffuser: 3–4 drops. On skin: always diluted in a carrier oil (e.g. coconut, sweet almond or grapeseed oil).

Caution
Do not swallow. May cause an allergic reaction — patch test first: apply a drop of diluted oil behind the ear or on the inner forearm; if any reaction appears within 24 hours, do not use on skin. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes, the inner ear and sensitive areas.
