Description
Lemon essential oil has a juicy, zesty, sunny scent — freshening your home, laundry and homemade cosmetics.
The lemon (Citrus limon) is a small evergreen tree in the family Rutaceae, native to South Asia, mainly north-eastern India. Its yellow fruit is used all over the world — for cooking, baking, juicing and cleaning. Lemon juice contains about 5–6% citric acid and has a pH of around 2.2, which gives it its sour taste — the very thing that makes lemonade so good.
Lemon oil is a completely natural ingredient, popular in aromatherapy — its bright, energising scent lifts the atmosphere at home and adds freshness to cosmetics.
How to use lemon essential oil
- in a diffuser — for a sunny, refreshing atmosphere,
- in the laundry — a few drops in the wash or final rinse freshen your fabrics,
- in the kitchen — to freshen wooden chopping boards and worktops,
- to remove stubborn glue residue and labels,
- in homemade cosmetics — diluted in a carrier oil.
Volume: 10 ml. For external use only.
Directions
Diffuser: 3–4 drops. On skin: always diluted in a carrier oil (e.g. coconut, sweet almond or grapeseed oil).
Caution
Do not swallow. May cause an allergic reaction — patch test first: apply a drop of diluted oil behind the ear or on the inner forearm; if any reaction appears within 24 hours, do not use on skin. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes, the inner ear and sensitive areas. Citrus oils may make skin more sensitive to sunlight — avoid sun exposure for several hours after applying to skin.
