Description
Hemlock Essential Oil (Spruce) — the fresh, coniferous scent of a winter forest. If you love fir and spruce, you’ll fall for it from the very first drop!
Eastern hemlock (Tsuga canadensis), also known as Canadian hemlock or hemlock spruce, is a conifer of the pine family native to eastern North America. The oil is also commonly called spruce or tsuga oil. It is produced by distilling the needles and twigs, and blends beautifully with other popular essential oils.
Like all conifers, hemlock is rich in monoterpenes, and its oil contains around 30–35% esters. Its scent is especially lovely at Christmas and during the winter holidays, but its forest freshness works all year round. It has an uplifting, energising character.
How to use hemlock essential oil
- in a diffuser or oil burner — for a festive, woodland atmosphere,
- in decorations — a few drops on pine cones or dried branches,
- in the bath — a few drops mixed with a carrier oil or bath salts,
- for massage — diluted in a carrier oil at the end of an active day.
Volume: 10 ml.
Caution
Do not ingest. Always dilute in a carrier oil before applying to skin and patch test first: apply a drop of diluted oil to the inner forearm — if any reaction appears within 24 hours, do not use on skin. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
