Description
Lemongrass Essential Oil has an intense, fresh, citrusy-herbal scent — energising and wonderfully clean.
Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) is a tropical grass in the grass family, known as West Indian lemon grass or simply lemongrass. It has long had a place in cooking — especially Asian cuisine — and in herbal tradition. The oil is extracted from the leaves and stalks of the plant. It has a powerful citrus scent and is often found in soaps and other personal care products.
Lemongrass is popular in aromatherapy. Its fresh scent can be enjoyed from a diffuser, and the diluted oil can be added to hair and skin products to give them a crisp, refreshing aroma. A good choice for homemade cleaning products, the bathroom and the kitchen.
How to use lemongrass oil
- in a diffuser — a refreshing aroma while you work or clean,
- added to shampoo or conditioner — one drop per use, for freshly scented hair,
- in a homemade room spray or worktop cleaner,
- for a foot massage after a long day — diluted in a carrier oil.
Volume: 10 ml.
Directions
Diffuser or oil burner: a few drops. On skin: always diluted in a carrier oil (e.g. sweet almond, jojoba or coconut).
Caution
Do not swallow. Always dilute in a carrier oil before applying to skin and patch test first: apply a drop of the diluted oil to the inner forearm — if any reaction appears within 24 hours, do not use on skin. Lemongrass oil is intense — use it at a low concentration on skin. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
Tropical freshness in your home!
