Basil Essential Oil 10 ml

Basil essential oil has a warm, spicy and herbal aroma — both calming and refreshing.

Basil, or sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum), is an annual herb in the mint family (Lamiaceae). The genus includes about 200 species, varieties and forms grown around the world. Basil is most popular in Southeast Asia, Central Asia and Europe, and is considered sacred in India. In Mediterranean cooking it is the heart of pesto, pasta and salads. It is also one of the herbs most commonly used for essential oil extraction.

Basil oil’s scent creates a calm yet fresh atmosphere — lovely in home fragrance blends and skincare.

How to use basil essential oil

• in a diffuser — for a fresh, herbal atmosphere in the kitchen or living room,
• in a massage oil — diluted in a carrier oil,
• in homemade cosmetics — a drop in your lotion for a refreshing feel,
• in blends with citrus, lavender or rosemary oils.

Volume: 10 ml.

Directions
Diffuser: 3–4 drops. On skin: always diluted in a carrier oil (e.g. coconut, sweet almond or grapeseed oil).

Caution
Do not swallow. May cause an allergic reaction — patch test first: apply a drop of diluted oil behind the ear or on the inner forearm; if any reaction appears within 24 hours, do not use on skin. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes, the inner ear and sensitive areas. Due to its intensity, basil oil should not be used by pregnant women or children under 16.
