Description
Carrot Seed Essential Oil — a warm, earthy essential oil from the seeds of Daucus carota, valued in aromatherapy and in skincare for mature skin.
Carrot seed oil is sometimes confused with carrot oil, which is made from crushed carrot roots steeped in a carrier oil such as olive or coconut oil. Carrot oil is not an essential oil and is often used in cooking. Carrot seed oil is something else entirely — a concentrated essential oil that is not intended for consumption.
Its warm, earthy aroma creates a calm, cosy atmosphere. Added to a carrier oil or a cream base, it becomes an interesting ingredient in homemade cosmetics — long found in products for mature skin, to which it lends a refined, slightly spicy scent.
How to use carrot seed essential oil
- in a homemade face or body oil — diluted in a carrier oil, as part of your evening skincare ritual,
- in cream — a drop in a portion of unscented base,
- for massage — diluted in a carrier oil,
- in a diffuser — in blends, to add earthy depth.
Volume: 10 ml.
Caution
Do not ingest. Always dilute in a carrier oil before applying to skin and patch test first: apply a drop of diluted oil to the inner forearm — if any reaction appears within 24 hours, do not use on skin. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
