Description
Cypress Essential Oil has a fresh, green, resinous-woody scent of Mediterranean hillsides — invigorating and calming at the same time.
In Greek mythology the cypress was considered a mourning tree, and it is still often grown in cemeteries. It was associated with Hades, god of the underworld, and legend says the cross of Jesus Christ was made from its wood.
The oil is obtained by steam distillation of the needles and twigs of young branches of the Italian, or Mediterranean, cypress. Its scent is often described as calming — ideal for moments when you need to cool down and gain some perspective.
