Wintergreen Essential Oil 10 ml

Wintergreen essential oil is a refreshing oil with a bold, sweet-minty aroma — crisp and invigorating, like a cool morning in the mountains.

It is obtained from the leaves of the evergreen shrub Gaultheria fragrantissima, a member of the heather family that grows in coniferous areas and is native to Asia and India. You may also hear the plant called checkerberry or teaberry. Its signature scent comes from methyl salicylate, the oil’s main component — an aroma you probably know from minty sweets and chewing gum, where wintergreen is used as a flavouring.

How to use wintergreen essential oil

• in a diffuser — a few drops for a fresh, invigorating atmosphere,
• in homemade lotions and massage oils after activity — always well diluted in a carrier oil,
• in fragrance blends with mint and citrus oils — for a cool, fresh composition.

Volume: 10 ml.

Directions
Diffuser: 3–4 drops. On skin: always diluted in a carrier oil (e.g. coconut, sweet almond or grapeseed oil).

Caution
Do not swallow. May cause an allergic reaction — patch test first: apply a drop of diluted oil behind the ear or on the inner forearm; if any reaction appears within 24 hours, do not use on skin. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes, the inner ear and sensitive areas. Do not use if you are sensitive to salicylates.
