Petitgrain (Bitter Orange) Essential Oil 10 ml

Petitgrain (Bitter Orange) Essential Oil has a fresh, green, slightly woody scent with a citrus accent — a classic of eau de cologne.

The bitter orange tree gives three essential oils: petitgrain is distilled from the leaves and twigs, neroli from the blossoms, and bitter orange oil is cold pressed from the peel. Petitgrain is widely used in perfumery, giving body sprays, fragrances, lotions and colognes a fresh, herbal note.

The oil comes from bitter orange trees grown in Africa, Haiti and Paraguay and is steam distilled from the leaves and branches. It is colourless, has a fresh, invigorating scent and blends especially well with citrus, floral and woody oils.

How to use petitgrain oil

• in a diffuser — for a fresh, elegant atmosphere at home and at work,
• as the base of a homemade cologne or body mist,
• in skincare — a drop in a toner, cream or oil gives a crisp scent and a feeling of freshness,
• for massage — diluted in a carrier oil,
• in blends with lavender, neroli, bergamot or cedarwood.

Volume: 10 ml.

Directions
Diffuser or oil burner: a few drops. On skin: always diluted in a carrier oil (e.g. sweet almond, jojoba or coconut).

Caution
Do not swallow. Always dilute in a carrier oil before applying to skin and patch test first: apply a drop of the diluted oil to the inner forearm — if any reaction appears within 24 hours, do not use on skin. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
