Description
Macadamia carrier oil is a golden oil with a silky texture — a great base for diluting essential oils. Essential oils are too concentrated to apply straight to the skin, so blend them with an oil like this one before a massage or bath.
Macadamia is native to Australia but is now grown around the world. Its nut oil has a warm golden colour, a sweet, buttery character and a mild nutty note.
It contains vitamin A, thiamine, niacin, riboflavin, folate, iron and proteins. Saturated fatty acids — including myristic, palmitic, stearic and arachidic — make up 16.3% of its composition, and unsaturated ones, including palmitoleic, linoleic and linolenic, the remaining 83.7%. Macadamia oil keeps very well: it can be stored for over a year without refrigeration. Its silky texture makes it lovely for massage and for caring for dry skin.
How to use macadamia oil
- as a base for diluting essential oils — for massage, baths and your own fragrance blends,
- for massage — on its own or with a few drops of your favourite essential oil,
- in your everyday body and hand care — especially dry skin,
- as an ingredient in homemade cosmetics — scrubs, balms and body oils.
Capacity: 1 litre.
Caution
For external use. Patch test on a small area of skin before first use. Do not use if you are allergic to nuts. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep tightly closed in a cool, dark place, out of reach of children.
