Description
Black pepper essential oil has a warm, spicy, peppery aroma — perfect for a warming massage on chilly evenings.
Black pepper (Piper nigrum) is a flowering vine in the family Piperaceae, cultivated for its fruit, the peppercorn, which is cooked, dried and used as a spice. When fresh and fully ripe, the fruit is about 5 mm in diameter and dark red, and — like all drupes — contains a single seed. Ground, dried and cooked peppercorns have been used since antiquity, and black pepper is the world’s most traded spice. It is valued not only in the kitchen, but also in perfumery and as a preservative. Its main active ingredient is piperine.
Applied to the skin (diluted), the oil gives a pleasant warming sensation, making it ideal for relaxing massage blends. Its aroma adds depth and spice to fragrance compositions.
How to use black pepper essential oil
- warming massage oil — combine one or two drops with a carrier oil,
- in a diffuser — paired with citrus or woody oils for a warm, spicy atmosphere,
- in homemade perfumes — as a spicy heart note.
Volume: 10 ml.
Directions
Diffuser: 3–4 drops. On skin: always diluted in a carrier oil (e.g. coconut, sweet almond or grapeseed oil).
Caution
Do not swallow. May cause an allergic reaction — patch test first: apply a drop of diluted oil behind the ear or on the inner forearm; if any reaction appears within 24 hours, do not use on skin. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes, the inner ear and sensitive areas.
