Description
Peppermint essential oil is refreshment in its purest form — a cool, crisp, menthol aroma that wakes up the senses.
Peppermint (Mentha piperita) is a natural hybrid of watermint and spearmint. Native to Europe and the Middle East, it is now cultivated in many regions of the world. It is considered one of the oldest known herbs and has been used in the kitchen for centuries. Peppermint oil is widely used as a flavouring in food and drinks and as a fragrance in soaps and cosmetics. Thanks to its menthol content, it leaves a pleasant cooling sensation on the skin.
How to use peppermint essential oil
- in a diffuser by your desk — a refreshing aroma for work and study,
- in a cooling massage oil for feet, neck or shoulders after a long day — diluted in a carrier oil,
- in homemade cosmetics — a drop in your lotion or gel for minty freshness,
- in blends with lavender, lemon or rosemary oil.
Volume: 10 ml. For external use only.
Directions
Diffuser: 3–4 drops. On skin: always diluted in a carrier oil (e.g. coconut, sweet almond or grapeseed oil).
Caution
Do not swallow. May cause an allergic reaction — patch test first: apply a drop of diluted oil behind the ear or on the inner forearm; if any reaction appears within 24 hours, do not use on skin. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes, the inner ear and sensitive areas.
