Description
Oregano essential oil is one of the most powerful oils in the aromatherapy world — warm, spicy-herbal and very intense.
You probably know oregano best from Italian and Indian cooking. The oil from this fragrant herb has had its place in traditional practices for centuries. Its bold character comes from carvacrol, the main chemical compound in oregano. Please note: oregano essential oil, unlike oregano extract or oregano oil, is not meant to be consumed.
How to use oregano essential oil
- in a diffuser — a drop or two, ideally paired with a gentler oil (e.g. citrus or lavender) for a warm, Mediterranean aroma at home,
- in home fragrance blends and sachets with dried herbs,
- on skin — only well diluted in a carrier oil, e.g. in a warming massage oil.
Volume: 10 ml.
Directions
Diffuser: 3–4 drops. On skin: always diluted in a carrier oil (e.g. coconut, sweet almond or grapeseed oil).
Caution
Do not swallow. May cause an allergic reaction — patch test first: apply a drop of diluted oil behind the ear or on the inner forearm; if any reaction appears within 24 hours, do not use on skin. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes, the inner ear and sensitive areas. This is a very strong oil — always use it highly diluted on skin.
