Cumin (*Cuminum cyminum*) is a low-growing leafy plant found in Asia, India, the Middle East and the Mediterranean. Its fruits, known as cumin seeds, are a spice loved worldwide — many cuisines would be unthinkable without it. The essential oil is obtained from dried, crushed seeds by steam distillation.

The cuminaldehyde it contains creates a noticeable warming sensation when applied to the skin. In aromatherapy, cumin brings a bold, spicy note to blends — just a touch gives a composition real character. An oil for adventurous noses and lovers of oriental, spice-led scents.

### How to use cumin seed essential oil

- in a diffuser — a drop in a blend with citrus or other spice oils,
- in homemade perfumes — as a warm, spicy note,
- for massage — in the evening, only when diluted in a carrier oil.

This oil is phototoxic — do not expose skin to sunlight after application. Do not ingest.
