<trp-tag data-no-translation="">**Rosewood Essential Oil** has a warm, slightly spicy, woody scent with a delicate floral touch — gentle and wonderfully pleasant.

The name “rosewood” refers to medium-sized trees with golden yellow flowers and dark pink or brownish wood that grow in the Amazon rainforests of Brazil and French Guiana. They are used in the perfume and furniture industries. The fine-grained, aromatic, pinkish wood is hard, compact and durable, so carpenters value it highly and often use it for marquetry.

The oil comes from *Aniba rosaeodora*, a tree in the laurel family (*Lauraceae*), and is obtained by steam distillation of wood shavings. Thanks to its delightful scent it is often used in commercial bath and skincare products. In aromatherapy it is prized for an aroma that lifts the spirits and creates a calm atmosphere — lovely during a busy week, or even as a companion on a long car journey.

### How to use rosewood oil

- in a diffuser or oil burner — for a quiet moment after work,
- in the bath — a few drops mixed with a carrier oil or bath salts,
- in skincare — a drop in a cream or oil gives it a warm, woody-floral scent,
- when travelling — a drop on a tissue,
- in blends with lavender, rose, citrus or sandalwood.

**Directions**  
Diffuser or oil burner: a few drops. On skin: always diluted in a carrier oil (e.g. sweet almond, jojoba or coconut).

**Caution**  
Do not swallow. Always dilute in a carrier oil before applying to skin and patch test first: apply a drop of the diluted oil to the inner forearm — if any reaction appears within 24 hours, do not use on skin. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
