<trp-tag data-no-translation="">**Apple geranium essential oil** has a subtly sweet, crisp scent with distinct notes of apple and mint — a favourite in skin and hair care.

Geranium (*Pelargonium graveolens*) is a flowering plant native to South Africa. It produces lovely blush-pink flowers with distinctive purple markings on their petals. Interestingly, the flowers are not used to make the oil — the leaves and stalks are. With a soothing aroma carrying a slightly earthy or minty undertone, the oil is used in perfumery, aromatherapy and, of course, body care.

There are many varieties and strains of this pink, fragrant flower — each smells a little different, but they are near-identical in composition and uses. This oil comes from *Pelargonium odoratissimum*, a species native to South Africa, also known as apple geranium thanks to its distinct apple and mint notes.

### How to use apple geranium essential oil

- in a massage oil — diluted in a carrier oil, for well-cared-for, beautifully scented skin,
- in homemade cosmetics — a drop in your cream or lotion,
- in hair care — a few drops in your shampoo or conditioner will leave your hair smelling lovely and fresh all day,
- in a diffuser — for a cheerful, floral-fruity atmosphere.

Volume: 10 ml.

**Directions**  
Diffuser: 3–4 drops. On skin: always diluted in a carrier oil (e.g. coconut, sweet almond or grapeseed oil).

**Caution**  
Do not swallow. May cause an allergic reaction — patch test first: apply a drop of diluted oil behind the ear or on the inner forearm; if any reaction appears within 24 hours, do not use on skin. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes, the inner ear and sensitive areas.
